“Takagi, who is sitting next to me, is always teasing me. But, I won’t let this continue! Just look, Takagi!! I will definitely replace you with a fluster!!”
This comic immediately started the daily life between Takagi and Nishikata at school. Without a detailed explanation, the reader will immediately be given Nishikata’s plan to tease Takagi again. Even without any explanation at first, readers will be invited to understand slowly why Nishikata and Takagi want to prank each other one by one over time. Needless to say this simple story was enough to satisfy a wholesome’s desire as Takagi and Nishikata commented on each other’s actions. I personally sometimes don’t have the strength to read some parts of the first volume of Teasing Master Takagi, because I feel both laughing and so annoyed that Nishikata is not sensitive to Takagi’s actions that lead to his liking.
Since the core of the story is Takagi and Nishikata’s mischievous scenes, there are indeed many parts of the story that will not be connected to each other. Readers can leisurely follow the direction of the exciting and wholesome story between Takagi and Nishikata.
With a simple but wholesome story, it would be better if the depiction of each scene here could be executed properly. In the first volume of the comic Teasing Master Takagi this is displayed well. Be it from the expressions between Nishikata and Takagi when teasing and talking to each other to the moment of silence when one of them wants to do something. If you have watched the anime adaptation, re-reading this comic will be more exciting because of its good and expressive depiction. Just seeing every panel of interactions between Nishikata and Takagi makes me smile, whether it’s because of his expression or the cuteness of Takagi’s forehead.
By genre, the Teasing Master Takagi comic series is a comedy comic, so you can be sure that you will enjoy the various pranks that Takagi makes to Nishikata every day. In the first volume alone I quite enjoyed the jokes made by Takagi. Even though I already know some of the storylines, I can still laugh because reading the comics will immediately feel the difference, especially in the aspect of depiction which is often the best highlight in this comic. In addition to the intake of jokes or new ideas to tease your friends, you will also get an excessive dose of cuteness and wholesome from their annoyance.
Finally, for those of you who have watched the anime adaptation of Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san or Teasing Master Takagi, maybe re-reading this comic will look like something is missing. Indeed, some aspects will be felt, but what you will not miss when reading this comic is a closer depiction of the facial expressions of each character. There are funny characters such as Takagi’s smile and laughter to Nishikata’s regretful look who is always being bullied. It’s little things like that that you’ll miss in the anime adaptation. What do you think Takagi’s plans will be to tease Nishikata in the future? Follow the story in Teasing Master Takagi!
